HI
I am trying to broadcast a query based on its filter value to user's email address . I am using filters because user want to see his own data only in excel format. So I created different settings for different users by setting required filter values . But the mail is not getting delivered to any of the user.
On the other hand If I remove filter value the mail is getting delivered but with whole data in an excel.
The user should see only the relevant data but this scheme is not working. Kindly guide in this regards.
Thanks
Smriti
Hi Smriti,
I will suggest try with one user with limited access (say xyz comp code data) and using RSECADMIN try to run with that user id and get the output.
Now run same query using broadcasting and get output to compare.
Don't forget to select user specific check box.
Also if you are checking auth user, then keep in mind, it will work only when u execute it in background.
Thank-You.

hi vinod..
sorry for replying late..
Yes the broadcasting is working fine for the query but if the user specific option is unchecked . But this doesn't solve my purpose because in this case user get to see whole data.
Yes i have to do some changes in the query and added an authorization relevant infoobject in query as per the requirement. After adding I added this object with values in existing authorizations in rsecadmin and then assigned it to specific users.
So when i schedule the query in bex broadcaster the mail doesn't get delivered to the recipient.
I checked the option user specific in this case.

And you are running it in background as well, right ? User specific will work only when you schedule it or run via PC.
If you are using userid to sent email, then check the TCode SU01, whether email ids are maintained.
Please follow step by step process, since auth is really depends upon how it is configured in RSECADMIN.
Broadcasting will only follow it.
Thank-You.

Thanks vinod..
the mail was successfully sent to the recipient by marking user specific option.
Then I added one more object in the authorization and set some values init and then assigned it to the user. After completing this activity the report is again not getting delivered. I could not even found any logs of the scheduled reports in transaction SOST.
What can be the cause of it.....
is it because of more restrictions that are not allowing system to generate user specific documents??

Hi,
I didn't get "Then I added one more object in the authorization" ?
Are you changing queries to add auth objects.
As I suggested earlier, go step by step.
First finalize your query.
Then try to run it by ADMIN (BW ALL) userid and see the broadcasting is working fine.
Then try adding user, but prior to that using RSECADMIN run the report using that user and see what out put is expected. Then confirm user is receiving such output using broadcasting.
Query authorization will comes first as soon as you are using auth specific and run in background.
Broadcasting will simply follow that.
Let me know if you still having issues.
Thank-You.

Please check whether you have proper authorization to broadcast or not?
