Hi Experts,
What is your take on this matter? My company usually receives stocks as sample from suppliers. We want to track all the samples received. We also want to track all requests. What is the best way to handle the situation. Through PO, GRPO or Goods Receipt under Inventory Transaction?
Thanks
Richard
Hi Richard Brey,
If you use GRPO, you can track the supplier, sample supplied, other necessary information.
If you use Good receipt under inventory transactions, you can only track the samples supplied without more details.
But in both cased the inventory value get increased.
Thanks & Regards,
Nagarajan

Hi Richard,
You can use sales return document for receiving sample from customers as 0 cost.
Sales A/R --> Return

Hi Richard,
You can use 0 price for those free samples. In this way, your inventory quantity will be increased but total value will be kept the same. To keep track of the request, PO would be good enough.
Thanks,
Gordon

Dear Richard,
would like to know while receiving samples any documents attached to it.
what is the purpose of receiving the samples ? are you using it for the testing purpose and send the remaining sample after doing the job?
if it is a normal sample process wherein u need not to send it back and at the same time want to track the sample received from the supplier then you can do so through goods receipt by adding few relevant fields for tracking purpose.
