Hi Experts ,
I have a question for you .
We are having healthy running CHaRM in Solman 7.1 SP7 with one of our client ,they are having a big setup and presently they are going for EHP6 upgrade .
So after two successful mock runs its time for the QA system to EHP6 Upgrade and in the meantime until upgrade&testing of QA done , they want to replace the QA system in current ChaRM with some standby system .
I know its quit difficult either we can change the hostname of old QA or we can create a new project .......??
Kindly suggest what is the best possible way to do this ?

Hi,
You can define a new logical component which includes the standby system in the landscape chain and replace the present logical component (with QA system) in the present project itself and activate the project IMG for the same and generate a new maintenance cycle for usage and once your system is ready you could again replace the old logical component but there is a drawback that the CD's can get effected if open in the old maintenance cycle. Hence you could complete them and perform the steps.

Hi, if you need deactivate QAS during Upgrade you can do it from LMDB seting it as "inactive".
But if you need to change some system or add a new Technical component you have to close the maintenance Cycle or create a new project.

Hi,
What you can do is;
1) Close current maintenance cycle along with all the CDs
2) Modify the landscape in solar_project_admin.
3) Generate a new maint. cycle.
