UWL error on Netweaver EP6 Stack12

Former Member

Dear UWL experts

I have a problem with the UWL.

I have installed a Netweaver 04 EP6 Stack 12 – Standard installation through the rapid installer. I have no SAP backend systems connected and all I need to use is the standard task list feature that the UWL offers.

Every time I try to create a simple task I receive the error message that I have listed below.

com.sap.workflow.util.WFTask.invokeOperation: more than one operation signature (for operation 'setAssignees') matches arguments passed

I have not configured any specific settings under the UWL administration. I have just added the standard UWL iview to my workset. Shouldn’t the standard UWL iview work without any further customization?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

John

Hi John,

Have you read it ?

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e5/fc550f79ed4131a63c540cddbfe7be/frameset.htm

Prerequisites

Content Management 6.0 is installed, though UWL also works without Content Management. See SAP note 702255 for details.

Each connected SAP R/3 System has the following requirements:

· Workplace Plug-In 6.0 is installed

· Connection to the SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS)

Each user is:

· Known to all connected SAP R/3 Systems as per role requirement (make sure that there is one-to-one mapping between the portal user and the backend user )

· Authorized for RFC access to function group SWK1 and transaction SWK1

Hi Patricio.

Yes I have seen it. But I have several other standard installations working with a simple Task list without any R3 backend installed.

I have tried to add Stack 13 but still the same error.

I have read the Help note, and can see that the R3 connection should be created, but I thought that this was only necessary for advanced workflows, since it works on other test installations

Kind regards

Please try this, if it does not work or something is missing, please let us know:

There could be something wrong with the installation. check the following:

1. check if the workflow templates are available. you can do this by going to:

Content Administration->Workflow Content->Workflow Templates. Check if the "QuickTask" template is listed here.

2. check if the task object is cofigured. Go to

http://localhost:port/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/PortalAnywhere.Go

Search for the portal app

com.sap.workflow.apps

Click "Go" for the portal application "BusinessObject". Check if the "WFTask" is listed in the business objects.

Dear Shweta

Thanks for the reply. I have tested the two parts and both parts exist.

The workflow template has a status: "start event" and the WFTask exist.

You can se my settings in the following screenshoots:

Hi John,

I think one of your database tables is corrupted with a duplicate entry. Did you perform any version migration? Is there any chance I could take a look at your database?

Give me a call at 650-849-4060 at your convenience.

Thanks,

Hi Neil

Thanks for the reply. I am sorry but I can't provide you direct access to the portal server, but then gain maybe by use of webex session?!?.

Or cold you guide me through? If you are the brain then I could be the hands and eyes Or do you know which tables I should look for, because then I could send you a dB dump?

Thanks once again in advance.

Hi John,

Could you take a look at the table OBJCACHE_METAO? Prefix in SQL Server would be KMC_. Specifically, could you check to see if there are two entries with OPERATION_NAME/METHOD_NAME of "setAssignees"?

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil

You were absolutely right. There are double entries for each item in the KMC_OBJCACHE_METAO table.

I have tried to delete the double entries but it’s not allowed though the enterprise manager. Please have a look at the “attached” screenshot (http://webdata.dk/uwl/uwl5.jpg).

Do you have any ideas on how to delete this part? And could there be a lot of other tables that this table refers to with duplicated entries as well?

Thanks in advance

Hi John,

Could I get some information on how this might have happened? The migration utility should not have had this effect under any circumstance - is it possible that a Netweaver installation was somehow halted before completion and then re-started? How was the installation done?

I believe if you stop the SAPJ2EE server, you should be able to delete these entries. However, could you generate a CSN for the EP-BC-JWF queue about this problem? Since this appears to be a situation particular to your system, we can take a closer look at your other tables and determine if any others are corrupted.

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil

I have not created any migration only a standard portal installation by use of the SAP rapid installer based on stack 12. Afterwards I have upgraded to stack 13 and then 14, but the error has occurred since stack 12. The installation failed by I continued by use of starting SAP inst and select “continue old installation”.

I have looked a several other dB and no duplicates exist here. I have another problem when setting user rights to KM folders, it keeps resetting each time I activate the save button. I think that duplicate entries can be the root for this problem but I can’t locate the table on where user rights are stored.

I have tired to stop the SAP application but still I am not allowed to delete the duplicates.

I’ll create an OSS note to SAP and hope they can provide a solution on how to delete these duplicates.

Thanks for all your help and guidelines

Kind regards
