Automatic plan order automatically?

How does SAP system create plan order/ Purchase req automatically over night? I believe it is MRP, right?

Actually I have user requesting to stop creating plan order & PR automatically overnight for plant 1001...I belive I should not run MRP for plant 1001...Correct me if wrong.
