Hi togehter,
have anybody experiences with the salutation? We have configured the Portal with Single-Sign-On. The users are in a ECC 5.0.
I have the language german in my user profile. In the backend-system I have the salutation "Herr".
If I log on at the portal I got the message "Willkommen Mr ....." I can change the salutation in personalisation to the german "Herr". But this keep still alive as I logged on. If I log of an log on again the wrong (english) salutation come again.
Any idea?
Regards Thomas
Did you set the NLS in your client browser to hold german as the first language?
If not, try moving it up. If so, you can try changing the preferred language in the portal's NLS settings.

After a long time: Haven't anybody an idea what the reason can be?
Hi,
my NLS in the IE is german. I have written, that I have tried to set the language in the personal settings in the portal. In ECC my language settings also german so I didn't understand from which point EP take the information for a english native salutation.
Haven't anyone an idea what the reason is?
Regards,
Thomas

I believe this is a limitation of the UME - as Ralph points out the language that is used is based on the SAP user you use to access the ABAP system. There is no easy easy to translate the salutation.
Maybe in ABAP you could store the first name as "Herr Thomas" - could be messy in other places...
