Attaching documents SAP SYSTEM without storing in SAP server

Dear experts,

To attach documents in ME22N t-code, user has to click on "Services for objects" button which involved saving documents data in the SAP Server.

The requirement is to use a third party for storing document. SAP Note 530792-Storing documents in the generic object servives- affirm that is possible to define attachments using the archive link on optical archive.

I would like to know how to user archivelink to store attachement documents in Purchase order(ME22N)  on physical repository (shared document for example )

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Tarik

This is a generic question and I try to awnser.

1. We need to configure a content repository in OAC0. Content repository can be file system if you don't want to purchase one such as Filenet, Open text etc.

2. Create a document type using OAC2.

3. Assign the document type using OAC3 to a business object, in this case it is PO which is EKKO.

If you want to use Create Attachment button and want it to goto Content Repository, then

1. Create a new document category using OACT

2. Assign it to SOFFPHIO as New Category field in SKPR08

There could be more configuration steps.

Hi Tarik,

Is the IP address 192.168.1.9 for Content Server ?

In this case all the data will get stored in Content server and not the path C:\SAP\ContRep.

Incase you are able to upload the documents , you may retrieve it using same SAP transaction.

Hope this helps.

Dear Tarik ,

You can perform the connection test. to check if the content server is okie, Also plese make sure that you have created a storage category with transaction in OACT and have done mapping in SKPR08.

Hi Deepak ,

the 192.168.1.9 is the ip adress of my content server and C:\SAP\SAP is the content repositiry of the content server , normaly data should be stored in this location.

As Sireesh said, if i want to use Create Attachment button and want it to goto Content Repository, then

1. Create a new document category using OACT

2. Assign it to SOFFPHIO as New Category field in SKPR08

but i don't know how can i implement this 2 steps, some screen shots would be helpful !

Thanks in advance.

Hello Tarik,

the pathes (basic and archive) in OAC0 referig to the application server and used for async. storing and for the retrival.

Please check the F1 helps on the fileds in OAC0 for more info.

For the standard GOS attachments. (Created with the Create Attachment function) please check the

transactions OACT and SKPR08. With these you can define that instead of the content repository SOFFDB store the documents in another (in your case http) content repository.

And the report RSCMST is always there to check all the functions of a content repository. (A connection test is not always enough to check the correct operation of a content server.)
