Hi - Thanks for the response.
We are taking backup into tape. Backup being fired from DB13 [in the same system] and using tivoli tool we are backing up data to tape.
A while ago we copied the client and kernel from the production system and replaced in this qty system [as production system backup are happening properly]

Hi ,
Please check the permission of directory mentioned below.
/usr/sap/SID/DV*/exe
/sapmnt/SID/exe
Please also check the backint utiltity that links sap to tivoli is present and has the write permission.
check these notes.
Note 113747 - Owners and authorizations for BR*Tools
Note 1598594 - BR*Tools configuration for Oracle inst. under "oracle" user
If all the permission are good try to run the job with more trace level.
1780001 - How to increase the trace level for the br*tools jobs which are scheduled in DB13
Thanks

Hi Vijay,
Please check and update the following
1) SAP kernel version should be 7.20 or higher. Execute ./saproot.sh to adjust the permissions.
2) DBATools should be 7.20 or higher
3) Oracle instant client is updated with 11g and configured correctly
Note 819829 - Oracle Instant Client Installation and Configuration on Unix
/oracle/client/11x_64/instantclient (= symbolic link)
/oracle/client/11x_64/instantclient_11202 (= directory)
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Deepak Kori
Hi All - Problem resolved. And thanks for the clue you have given.
As per SAP Note: 819829, created the soft link with below exact command with orasid user
ln -s /oracle/client/11x_64 /oracle/client/10x_64
Then problem resolved. But mystery is this qty system we are forced to add this softlink where as in production system with same kernel, same database, same instaclient but it is working perfectly without any softlink wiht 10x_64
Anyways . . thank you all for your support.
Regards
Vijay
Hi,
Have you recently upgarde orcale client? If yes than you have removed/renamed old client dir (For Example 10X_64). If this is the case please rename this dir to as it is & try to execute your job.
If you ahve configured instant client 11.2 than please have look on below OSS note for "Configuring Oracle Instant Client 11.2 for SAP BR*Tools 7.20"
Note 819829 - Oracle Instant Client Installation and Configuration on Unix

Hi ,
Can you please provide more details and if the system you are trying to backup is on which platform.
Are you trying to back it up from another system like solution manager.
Thanks
