PB 12.5: non-technical question about upgrade

Former Member

My client has an application currently in PB 10.2 (enterprise edition) and in the process of upgrading to PB 12.5 (we don't have it yet) in the coming months. Our management thinks that this PB upgrade is paid for in the ongoing support contract we have for PB. They are trying to confirm with the vendor about this.

In the mean time, I thought of tapping into wealth of experience in this forum. Does our support contract entitle us for a free upgrade to PB 12.5 or do we have to purchase PB 12.5 separately? If it's included, where do I go to get the license for the new version? Do we have to go through the same vendor we purchased 10.x from?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Sam

If you have an Upate Subscription Plan, yes, but a normal service contract, no.

Thanks for that link, Bruce. Slightly above it, I found another list. I noticed on our contract, it mentioned SupportNow and we had Standard support. According to the below link, we do have (I hope) new product updates.

My manager contacted the vendor (Compucom) who hasn't gotten back to us yet. (I am not on their primary support contact list, so I couldn't contact SAP directly!!). To me this is total lack of support. Probably because of this, my client hasn't used the support for a while, though they have been paying for it!! On the other hand, Oracle is always at our door trying to sell us more. I really hope SAP streamlines these better.
