Problem in Mutiple Provider when identify characteristic.

Hi all,

    

The business scenario is: Three years' sales data are divided into four cube. There is a vip_number field in these cube. In order to join the vip informatin to the sales data, I created a Infoset for them.

Now I put a mutiple provider on the top of these infoset. But I can't continue when I doing idenify characteristic.

ZVIP_I01_F21 is the vip card create time.

ZVIP_I01_F4 is the sales time.

Hi Li,

   Multiprovider doesn't allow more than once characters per inforprovider as an identifier. Which means that when you assign characters/KFs, you are not allowed to assign more than one characters from each infoproviders (Infoset in your case). You are getting this error because you have selected both the characters from the list. Please remove either character and try again.

Why do you need an infoset ?

If in each cube you have the same structure, for example :

VIP_NUMBER, SALES, YEAR

Then, it is not a join you have to do, but a union, so a multiprovider using the 3 cubes should fit your requirements...You would then benefit from navigational attributes, what you can not do with an infoset...

Hi li wei,

In Multiprovider for info object we can assign only one info object. So for info object ZVIP_I01_F4 you can assign only one corresponding info object. This is like mapping of the field.

Select only ZVIP_I01_F4 from each infoset and then activate Multiprovider.

Hi,

Is ZVIP_I01_F4 Navigational attribute ? If yes, first select the object in Infoprovider ZVIP_I02 under Navigational Attribute. Then try to select the same object in Multiprovider then it will work.

Hi Li,

According to snap shot tick only info object ZVIP_I01_F4. Because it's the common objects  which is available in your targets.

As you are doing the assginment for ZVIP_I01_F4 so please select these inffobjects only and untick those 21 named .

Hi Li,

Have you selected required fields part of your multi provider?

seems like not, its asking choose one info object atleast to combine two targets ZVIP_I01 andZVIP_I02. choose the which was common from these targets.

HI,

The screen shot message is correct. You cannot assign both infoobjects. You have to select ZVIP_I01_F4 .

After creating infoset, why are you trying to create MP again? You can directly report on your Infoset , right?
