Forecast Consumption in R/3, same month as sales order

I have seen lots of discussions on this topic.  I want to consume the forecast within the same month (period) that the customer order is confirmed. Backward/foreward consumption that spans periods does not work for me since it skews future demand if my customer orders exceed the forecast in a period.

My strategy group is 40.

Since I am not super technical on SAP, is all forecast consumption done by the same program/function ?  If so, is there a single user exit or BADI that can be triggered to do the above ?  If not, and I need custom code written, is there one place to implement that, or does it have to be implemeted at multiple points inside SAP.

Sorry for the naive questions, but since I do not speak SAP TECH, I am not sure what most of the posts on this subject say.  And I do NOT want to consume the forecast inside APO, I want to control the consumption inside R/3 so as sales orders are entered, the forecast gets consumed.

This is not possible on the standard system, but you can try to build a solution using BAdI MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS.

It is very common to use it for a more flexible approach of the PIR consumption logic.
