Design studio on Netweaver Portal userexperience

Are you using Design studio template Basic Analysis Layout as replacement for Bex Web on Netweaver Portal?

Hi Koen,

While I can't comment directly on the user experience of Design Studio on the NetWeaver Portal, have you considered the implications of remaining on the NetWeaver Portal given that SAP's statement of direction is to support only deployments to the BusinessObjects BI Platform as of Design Studio 2.0 (Lumira 2.0)? Presumably one of the reasons for this is to provide an improved user experience compared to the NetWeaver Portal.

Hi Mustafa,

Thanks for the reply, off course the BI team wants to use the BIP, but there is a price that goes with it. (Extra Licenses, implementing an authorizations model, adjusting roles, etc etc) A price that the company is not willing to pay at the moment. But to give the users more than the simple BEx Web, we are trying to deploy Design Studio on the netweaver portal, we are reluctant to wait for a new bag of money. In "demo" mode we are happy, but it would be nice to hear some other experiences.

Thanks for the feedback. Your points of course are all very valid. Hopefully others who have deployed on the NetWeaver Portal will share their experiences.
