Org Model in SAP CRM

Hello Every one,

I have been seeing so many blogs and wiki's - I would like clarity with you on this Org Model in SAP CRM.

1. For Org Model in CRM - Do we have replicate ECC Org structure to SAP CRM ?

2. What is the difference between creating the Org Model manually in CRM and assigning ECC Sales Org Units under the Functions Tab of Org Unit .

Eg - Assinging Sales org 1000 , Distribution channel 10 and Division 00

Eg - Sales office 10 and Sales group 20

Your inputs are really appreciable.

Thanks in advance

Amrita

Hi Amrita,

1. For Org Model in CRM - Do we have replicate ECC Org structure to SAP CRM ?

--> Yes.  You can replicate ECC Organization structure to SAP CRM.  But prior to that you need to define the mapping between all sales organizations, sales office, sales groups along with the other relevant settings in CRM system.

--> Once you download the basic sales organization structure in CRM, you can then add positions, assign employees/users to these positions in CRM only.

2. What is the difference between creating the Org Model manually in CRM and assigning ECC Sales Org Units under the Functions Tab of Org Unit .

--> You can obviously create the Org Model in CRM.  Assigning ECC sales organization is available once you download the organization structure in CRM.  These are required for correct organization determination in the transaction which will in turn help in replicating your transaction from CRM to ECC.

Hope this will be useful

Thanks and Regards

DJ
