Salary Data iView displaying ASCII characters

Former Member

Hi All,

I was viewing information on the Salary Data iView in the Compensation Profile under MSS.  The graph that is being displayed has some rendering issues.  It is showing ASCII Characters where something else should be being displayed, I believe the min and max of the salary range.

Any ideas as to what needs to be configured or changed?

Thanks,

Kevin

I can't remember what note fixed this, but we had opened a note with SAP.  It took forever until they realized it was not us, but that there really was a problem.  There was an SAP note that resolved all issues...

Sorry I can't provide any more info.

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

We are experiencing the same issue you described above.  Can you tell me which note you applied to correct this issue?

Thank you,

Hi Cynthia,

I cannot remember what note we applied to fix the problem.  I no longer work at the client that had this issue, so I can't access what was discussed with SAP.  Have you tried searching https://support.sap.com/notes?  I would log a message with SAP on this.  They would get back to you on it faster than I could remember.  It might have had to do with the fonts installed on the IGS... I wish I could remember.

Sorry,

Kevin

Hi Kevin.  Yes, we have already searched for notes.  Looks like I will need to open a new note for this.

Thank you for responding.

Kevin,

Your clue about fonts on the IGS helped me find the answer.  I searched for that and found this Q & A under Enterprise Compensation:

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/Overlapping+characters+in+the+Salary+in+Range+graph

This Q & A references two notes:

SAP Note 1028690

SAP Note 531668

We only had to follow the steps in note 1028690 and that fixed our issue.  I am posting this out here for others that might encounter this issue.

Thanks!

Glad I could help.  Thanks for posting your findings too.  I'm sure it will help other people down the road!

Cheers,
