Calling a UDT from UDF

Hi,

Is it possible to call a UDT from UDF via a query? What I mean is, I have UDF to which I can attach a Query. When user click on the User Defined Values Picker(the magnifying glass), the query should then open the required UDT.

Regards,

Ninad Vaidya

    Hi Ninad,

You can also try linking the UDT to your UDF instead of using any FMS; Just link the table directly to your UDF, it will be faster, you can update your UDT as well from the UDF if you do it this way.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ninad vaidya...

    Yes It Is Possible..

You can Use the Formatted Search .....

First save the query in the query manager,

    1. Goto the UDF (or) any Default(Original) Field and Click ShiftAltF2.

    2. Select the SEARCH BY SAVED QUERY.

    3. Assign the FMS Query.

    4. Select the AUTO REFRESH WHEN FIELD CHENGES.

    5. Select the require Auto refresh field

    6. Check the Refresh Regularly (or) Display Saved Values.

    Hope Helpful 😊

    Hi Ninad,

Kennedy is correct. You need to create a user query first for FMS.

The query should be very simple such as:

    SELECT * FROM dbo.[@UDT]

    Thanks,

    Gordon

    Hi Ninad,

If your query points correctly to your UDT you should be able to attach it to your UDF or any other fields in the form.

Thank you all for your help !! SDK is very new to me, any tutorials or reference how I can go about that?

Also, one not so sophisticated way to achieve my goal is to user Link Table while defining UDF. This will allow me to directly open the UDT to which my UDF is linked. Here I can enter the new Data and I can view exisiting data using UDF.

    Hi Ninad Vaida

For Your requirement you  can call a UDT from a UDF But  you cannot enter the data .It show the result of your query for that UDT .

For exact result you can go for SDK ask your technical team they will develop and give you
