Brand new install of IQ 16 just downloaded from the web site. The O/S is Win2008 Server Standard running in VMWare. A clone of this same O/S is running IQ 15.3 just fine, though that version of IQ is 32 bit. A clone of it is also running Data Services 4.0 just fine. We create a single base install of the O/S that we're satisfied with and then use it for all other VM's. So far that has worked without any issues.
SCC does come up in the browser.
Whenever I try to run start_iq it comes up and tells me that msvcr100.dll is missing. That file does exist in c:\system\SysWOW64. I even tried copying the file from there to the IQ bin64 directory. That didn't work so I removed the .dll fiel from bin64.
I tried installing both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the MS Visual C Runtime that were downloaded from the MS site today. That didn't help. So I went spelunking through the install since on one of the screens it said it was going to run the MS VC Runtime for me. I found archives\ms-redist-2010\vcredist_x64.exe and ran it. Now start_iq runs.
What happened?
