Storage location control (WM) for interin storage type 916

Hi Gurus, can you say me if this is possible to control stock en 916 storage type to manage it in a separate MM storage location?

I have MM1 and MM2 storage locations (MM) related to 1 WM storage (WM1).

Then, with storage location control I configured to manage stock of 902 on MM2 (the idea is to use MM2 to interin storage types).

But I'm not finding how to make this same to manage 916 (goods issue interin area) with this same logic used by 902.

Do you know if this is possible?

thanks in advance

Hi,

This should be possible, define the storage location reference, assign it in 'control of assignment plant/sloc-warehouse' and finally insert in search strategy for picking with required destination storage type.

Path: IMG-> LE->WM->Interfaces->IM-> define storage location control.

Regards

Vijay

Please try the following customizing and let us know if it works:-

Go to Define Storage Location Control

1) Control of Assignment "Plant / Stor.Loc. - Whse Number" - set MM1 as standard storage location (this should have already been done as it's working for 902 as you mentioned).

2) Stor. Location Control in Warehouse Mgmt - Add the following setting

WhNTypPlntS.LocMvT
xxx916xxxxMM2311

With above setting, I assume the picking TO created for delivery will carry standard storage location MM1 - if this is not the case, the solution won't work. After confirming the picking TO, run LQ01 to initiate transfer posting and the system should move the stock from MM1 to MM2.

Hi,

Your query is not very clear. Can you please explain it with an example?

With storage location control, you should have made the sloc MM1 as a 'Standard Storage Location'. With this setting if you do the GR in sloc MM2, the TR created will not have any mention of the SLOC and once you convert this TR to TO there you will automatically see the sloc MM1.

This is done if you want all the sales and other follow on activities to be done only from storage location MM1.
