    • Hi,

      Symptom

How can I get my Add on up and running?

      Cause

      Application functionality

      Solution

      Question 1:
Where is the log file found, as it is useful in
      tracking error messages?

      Solution:
      The add-on log files are
located for the 2005 A Add-ons in the folder "SAP Business One Log" which
itself can be found in the temp directory of the user.

      In order to access
the temp directory please perform the following
      steps:

        1. Choose "Run" from the Windows start menu,

        2. Type "cmd" and press Ok. A command line window will open.

        3. Type in "%temp%" and press ENTER.

      :/

Type "set" and press ENTER. This command will show you your current
environment settings. You will find a line beginning with "TEMP=".
Behind the equal sign you will see the path of your temp directory.
If this directory is not shown in the Windows Explorer check the
      settings of the Explorer.
Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is
      activated.

You can modify this setting in the Explorer using the Tools
menu. Choose "Folder options" and click on the "View" tab page.
      In
"Advanced settings" activate "Show hidden files and
      folders".

      Question 2:
I have one or more Add-ons on my client
      installed and I have an
error message: Run-time error '-1 (ffffffff)':
      General Failure
      Solution:
This error message is related to a corrupted
      client which effect the Add-ons.
To Clean your client you have first of
all to de-install all Add-ons on this specific client.
      Another very important
matter is to check that you are really using the same DI API as the SAP Business
      One.
After you have done all these steps you can start to install all add-ons
again but please download the newest version from the Service Market
      Place.

      Question 3:
How to I clean my client after a corrupt
      install? (note 819501)

      Solution:
o Start SAP Business One. Log on to
      the appropriate company.

      o Choose 'Administration' -> 'Add-ons' ->
      'Add-on Administration'.

o Remove the add-on(s) from the company by
      marking them and
      clicking the left arrow button.

      o Choose
      'OK'.

      o Close SAP Business One.

      o In Microsoft Windows, choose
'Start' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Add
      or Remove
      Programs'.

o Check if any SAP Business One add-on(s) are displayed in
      the
      list.

o If an add-on is included, uninstall it by choosing
      'Remove'.

o Using Windows Explorer, locate this folder: 'C:\Program
      Files\SAP
Manage\SAP Business One\AddOns\sap'. This path is for the
      default
installation folder on the client. If you chose a
      different
folder during the installation process, locate that
      folder.
Delete all subfolders (folders named like the add-ons) and,
      if
present, the "_common" folder (which contains the framework
      for
      add-ons).

      o Locate this folder: 'C:\Program Files\SAP
      Manage\SAP Business
One'. This is the default path for standard
      installation. If you
chose a different folder during the installation
      process, locate
      that folder.

      o Delete these files:
      'AddOnsInstall.sbo' and
      'AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo'
      o Start SAP
      Business One.
o Log on to the appropriate company.
      o Choose
      'Administration' -> 'Add-ons' -> 'Add-on Administration'.
      o Reassign
      the add-on(s) to the company.
      o Choose 'OK'.
      o Restart SAP Business
      One.
      Question 4:
How do I check my DI API version? (note 861599)

      To
find out the DI version you need to check it in two places.

      1. Right
click on the file C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP Business One
      DI API\DI
API 67\Object\SAPbobsCOM67.dll and go to properties ->
      version tab
-> and in the list box find the entry Special Build
      Description, this
should have the same value as your Business One
      patch level. If it does
not you should uninstall the DI you have at
      the moment and then reinstall
the DI from the patch your Business
      One currently is.

      2. The
second dll you need to check is a dll that is downloaded from
      the
SBO-COMMON database when the add-ons connect to the server. This
      dll is
      found in the following location
      %temp%\SM_OBS_DLL\6XXXXX\OBServerDLL.dll
      when opening the above path
note %temp% is an enviornment variable and is
      unique per operating
system. Also 6XXXXX, there may be many of these
      directories, what
you need to do is select the highest one, which
      represents the
      latest build.

When you eventually find the dll
OBServerDLL.dll, Right click on it and
go to properties -> version tab
-> and in the list box find the entry
      Special Build Description, this
should have the same value as you B1
patch level. If it doesn't what you need
to do is to delete the folder
SM_OBS_DLL, this is a temporary folder so it is
      OK to do this.
Now restart the addon you are using (DTW, Fixed Assets
      e.t.c.), after it
has initialised goto the %temp%\SM_OBS_DLL\6XXXXX\ folder
      again and look
at the Special build Description of the OBServerDLL.dll.
      If
again it is not the same version then the SBO-COMMON database is not
      the
correct version, if this is the case please run the SBO Upgrader
      utility
      available in the downloaded patch.

      Question 5:
      My add-on
installation will not initialize on the client (note
      826643)

      Solution:
After an upgrade or reinstallation of a client the
sapbouicom (UI API) is not registered correct. Though an addon is registered to
the company database and the user the addon installation will not
      initialize.
In certain scenarios after an upgrade or reinstallation
of a client it can happen that the sapbouicom (UI API) is not registered
      correctly.
To reregister the sapbouicom please do the following:
      First close down business One.
      In windows go to
'Start'->'Run', type in 'cmd' and press enter. You will receive a command
prompt. In the command prompt navigate to the folder where your SAP Business One
client is located. Normally that will be:
      C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP
      Business One.
Here type 'sapbouicom /regserver' and press enter.
      Now
      restart Business One.

      Question 6:
      My add-on installation failed. I
am running SBO with a non
SAP Add on. All the users can use this Add on
except one customer. This User got the License Error -2147024891 Access
      denied.
How can I troubleshoot? (note 912692)

      Check is there a
      Firewall enabled? -> Disable

Log In as the User and connect over the
      Network to the
      SBO_SHR Share.

Can the User create a new folder or not?
      If not then there is
      a permission problem.

      Log In at the SBO-Server
and check the permission for the
      SBO-SHR Share.

      The SBO-User must have
the permission for change; check also
      the NTFS-permission.

      Check the
DCOM Settings of the client pc. -> Start, Run,
      DCOMCNFG

      Is DCOM
      enabled at this PC?

Default Authentication Level should be at None and
      the
      Impersonation Level at Indentify

Go to the COM Security and make
      sure that the Group everyone
has the rights for Local and Remote control for
      Access and
      also Launch + Activation Permission.

Log In as the User at
the Client PC and start Business One.

If the problem still exists, log in
      as a Super User and
change at the SBO-Add-Menu force Installation of this Add
      On.
Install this with as a Super User.

Log In as the User and now it
      should be working.

      Question 7: (Note 809601)
      The initialization
process of an Add-On was not successfull.
I am getting the following system
message "Set-up function of extension failed"
      The log file shows the
      following information:

      - Failed to create table 'XXXX': Ref count for
this object is higher then 0.
      - Error: Error create/update database.
      -
DB create failed. See previous log messages for
      details.

      Solution:
This happens when one or more Add-Ons are already
      connected and a new
installed Add-On is initialized. The installation process
      of the
concerning Add-on works trouble-free. How can I deal with
      this?
This problem is caused by running Add-Ons that use a pointer to a
record set object. As long as this pointer exists, no user tables can be added
      to the database. To troubleshoot,
      please do the following steps:

      Stop all connected SAP Add-Ons:
      - Administration->Add-ons->Add-on
manager - Select each connected Add-on and push
the stop button Then select the the first new installed Add-On,
start it and wait until initialization is completed. Then stop it, start the
next new installed Add-On and initialize that one. Repeat these steps until all
new Add-Ons are initialized. Finally start all Add-Ons that you want to work
      with.

      Question 8:
I am using a Demo Db and my Addons won't work on
      this DB.
      Solution:
If you use a Demo Database from the Installation CD for
      version 2005A,
it might happen that AddOns wont work on this DB, as there
      have been AddOns previously
installed on this databases. If you want to use a
Demo Database for testing for AddOns,
it's better to upgrade a Demo from
2004A or to create a new database.

It would be the best if you deinstall
B1 and install it again before installing any AddOn.

      Question 9:
      When
connecting to addons at startup the application hangs. What can I
      do?

      Solution:
Try to restart the licence server and the SQL Server
      service.
After 2 minutes try to log on to SAP Business One again

    Hi,

In your Server, Which Path you installed?

If the Path "C" , you should allow certain administration rights to the remote desktop Users.

If not Change the Path 'D:\" instead of 'C:\".

    Thanks& Regards,

    Bowya S S

    Hi Pvsb,

    1. You log out SBO application.

    2. Open Task manager, end task all service relationship with SAP and Addon.

After that, login SBO and install Addon again.

If it still error, you should go to C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One and delete 2 file .sbo.
