excess production is plannying by heuristics

Hi all,

We are facing a weired problem.

Heuristics is planning for excess production.

1. Total demand is 1300

2. Production planned in same bucket is 1310.

3. Production plan in the last bucket of the horizon is 10 units reduced.( total demand is 1200 and production planned is 1190).

4.Initial buckets demand is zero.

Below master data settings are checked.

1.Lot for Lot strategy.

2.Saftey stock days is zero and value is zero.

3. Scrap percentage in PDS is not maintained.

4. Rounding value is 10.

Request for your inputs and solution as we are unable to plan for monthly cycle.

Regards

Bans.

    Hi All,

    We have resolved the issue.

We could able to resolve this issue by implemeting the OSS notes 1885363.

This issue is because of the rounding value and macro caluclations(0.0001). But system is not trunking down the fourth decimal

after implementation issue has been resolved.

    Thanks

    Bans

    Hi bans,

We could use some more information about your scenario.

What SCM version and service pack are you on?

Have you checked for SAP Notes yet?

Are there other sources-of-supply involved like transportation lanes? Could an additional demand (> 5) be coming from some other location as a distribution demand or Sales Order?

    Best Regards,

    Mike

    • Hi bans,

Your service pack level looks something like this: SAPKY70204 where you are using SCM 7.0, Ehp 2.0, service pack 4.

From the front menu: System -> Status -> Component version then pick the line with component SCM.

Try turning off the rounding value.

Are you planning in the base unit of measure? Is it the same as the planning area? Are there decimals in your planning unit?

Do you have different time zones between system, UTC and planning location? Worth a shot.

In general, take out anything that could be affecting the results and run planning. See what you get.

      Best Regards,

      Mike

Hello, the focus of this issue should be: why in the previous bucket, it did not plan enough quantity. The quantity to be planned is calculated from the stock on hand and target stock level. Do you see any figure in the row "supply shortage" for the previous bucket after heuristic run? Do you also encounter the same issue in standard delivered SNP planning book 9ASNP94?

    Hi

Can you post screen shots of your planning book and the log of heuristics run?

Also can you change the quantities from 1300 to some other number so that we can know if it always plan 10 excess or is it in proportion to the demand?

    Regards

    Mitesh
