Question on T code CG36

Hi,

  • What is the function of Tcode CG36?

  • We are looking to build an interface between client's legacy MSDS system and SAP EHS.  Could you please share some inputs ( on infrastructure requirements, mapping requirements, master data requirements etc) on how this can be done effectively? Also, would there be a need to maintain spec. database when we are only importing MSDSs?

Thank you,

Sruthi

Dear Sruthi

simple answer: using CG36 you import reports (documents like pdf file word files) in relation to specification master in EHS of any kind. PLease refer to oniline help. The import process is explained very well

RegardinG: Also, would there be a need to maintain spec. database when we are only importing MSDSs

Answer is: may be: you need to have a specification to make the upload. If you would like to distrbute the MSDS within SAP you have interface to SAP MM and SAP SD (in most cases).

You could the document without use of a material number; but the whole topic need to be checked in a project

Dear,

is there any t-code which could present me list of Invoices with all relevant details (amount, date, etc) but also Condition Type (in separate column) used with each invoice.

That would be very usefull for me to extract certain invoices with certain condition type

Thanks in advance,

Bojan

Dear Bojon,

You can use transaction MIR5 to view list of all invoices with amount and date.

For the other question, to find invoice with respect to condition type, check the below thread.

Re: Do you have to use the specification database?

It depends on what you intend to do with the imported data.

If it is for internal use, such as hazard communication for workers, then you will be interested to know about component extension 4.0 for SAP EHS Management which is planned for release July 29, 2013. It has significant new functionality with respect to managing chemical data for health and safety processes. What does this mean? It means that the chemical data from the SDS can be entered into a new chemical object directly without using the specification database. For customers who are not already using the specification database, this could provide a significantly less costly project. The use of the data is for health and safety processes in operations (manufacturing), for example hazard communication to workers, hazardous substance inventories, risk assessments of chemicals, controls for risks such as personal protective equipment, and so forth. It does not relate to shipping of dangerous goods or outbound SDS. For users of the specification database, there will be data transfer to EHSM 4.0, so that you will not have to create a duplicate process.

Dear Mary

regarding: component extension 4.0 for SAP EHS Management

Is this the "real" release date or the starting point of "Ramp up"? I assume Ramp up.

To my knowlegde there is no similar function as CG36 available in Component extension 4.0 for SAP EHS Management. BUt if I remember coorrect you can "handle" reports (of type MSDS). (check e.g. http://scn.sap.com/thread/3305944)

What I know about is , as you have described, that we have a "data interface".

Hi Christoph,

FYI: Extension 4.0 has just started the ramp-up process today.

Correction to Ralph's post - EHSM 4.0 has started the nomination process for ramp-up today. The RTC (Release to Customer) date is July 29. And yes this is limited release, meaning that the customer needs to fill out the ramp-up nomination. General Availability is expected in 6 months or less.
