Connect SAP to HCP Questions

Dear All,

1. Connect SAP ECC (on promisse) to HCP.

I want to know:

- if I use the SAP Cloud Connector from ECC to HCP, it will load whole data from ECC to HCP table (i will create) or it will read directly in ECC? or it does not do anything, just a connection.

- if it load whole data, what about the delta's? it is automatic?

- if it does not load the data, how we can do that? using the SLT or something like this? and schedulle every minute/second?

Let me know also if this logic can be valid for SAP BW data to HCP

Thanks.

Regards,

Hi Pheno,

We can provide better support if you share the bic picture what kind of solution you are going to implement.

It seems like you are going to implement some analytic app on cloud, right?

Take a look at https://blogs.sap.com/2016/06/21/sap-businessobjects-cloud-enterprise-readiness-2/. It provides options to connect data source.

Please try serching information by yourself. Read the Rules of Engagement.

I could find some related information.

Hi Masayuki Sekihara,

Thanks a lot.

"You can deploy an app on cloud and the app can read/write business data in ERP on-premise via cloud connector without any data replication. SAP Fiori Cloud is one of use case. https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Fiori/SAP+Fiori+Cloud."

So, in this scenario, I have two questions.

1. If I develop a Fiori on top for read the data, so, it will affect the performance, correct? or it will create some kind of cache in HCP?

2. If I want to develop a SAP Design Studio Dashboard on top of it and deploy in Fiori LaunchPad, I must have data replicated, correct?

3. Having a SLT, it will be needed to pay license, correct?

Currently we have SAP ECC EHP7

Thanks.

Hi Pheno,

The cloud connector is a network software component acts as a reverse invoke proxy between on-premise network and SAP Cloud Platform. For details, take a look at https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?e6c7616abb5710148cfcf3e75d96d596.html.

The cloud connector handles network level of connection and it does not have any data replication functions.

You can deploy an app on cloud and the app can read/write business data in ERP on-premise via cloud connector without any data replication. SAP Fiori Cloud is one of use case. https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Fiori/SAP+Fiori+Cloud.

If you need data replication, SLT can handle. For details, please vist http://www.sap.com/community/topic/lt-replication-server.html.

The openSAP course "Extending SAP S/4HANA with SAP HANA Cloud Platform" is just started this week. You can learn more integration topic between cloud and on-premise. https://open.sap.com/courses/hcp3a1.
