Hello, i know there is a limit of 1 milion rows in excel 2010 but what about if there is a program in ECC which reads the data and throws out a flat file and theni try to load it in BW. would that be ok? or the limit will cause the problems? thanks.
Hi Venkat,
If help of abap (think this way) try store progam output into table then do generic data source based on table.
When ever you want trigger data into bw side, run prorgam ecc side and then do extrcation. might be good idea if possible to put prorgam output into a table.
Thanks

hi,
Why you are extracting data into flatfile from ECC.
if you are extracting data from table or some source .you can create generic extractor in ECC and you can load data from there to BW.
Thanks

Hi,
I agree with Mathew. Flat filsa have to be used when some small amounts of data to be loaded without developing great extractors. But you are expecting more than 1 million records, which any extractor can bring easily. Please create a generic datasource to achieve the same.

The 1 million row limit is a feature of Excel. Not a feature of a flat file, nor of BW. The flat file and BW go nowhere near Excel, so I cannot conceive why you are worried about it.
Rather than have your ECC system produce a flatfile, why not have a proper extractor?
