Prevent Contract from Promising Stock

Hi All,

We take forecasts for large customers 60-120 days in advance of their orders, and create contracts in SAP for the forecasted quantities.  The issue we have is that in some cases these contracts are for SKUs that we have on hand, and want to sell to other customers immediately.  We will be bringing in additional stock at a later time for the contracts, and have allocation set up to allocate the contracts 45 days prior to their date.  Until that 45 day window hits though, we do not want the contracts to promise against on-hand inventory, which will then cause ATP to show current customers that we have no stock available to ship.

So for example, if we have 500 units on hand of SKU 10449, and today a contract for 1000 units of 10449 is entered for August, we do not want ATP to promise those 500 units on hand to the August contract.  We want the 500 units to remain in available status so that customers placing orders today see confirmed dates based on that on-hand inventory.

I thought the solution would be to simply uncheck the appropriate schedule line category's "availability" check box, but that does not seem to do the trick.  Is there a way to achieve what we are looking for?

Thanks!

Hi Jordan,

Did you try to have the Delivery Date in schedule line screen to be near to the 120 days period ?

Thanks.
