Another solution that worked in my case.
Go to: Windows - Preferences - General - Secure Storage.- Password [tab] - [Click button] Recover Password ... - [Answer the security questions].
A new master password is created. [Confirm]
Now click the Unlock button and you should be able to see your systems.
Please note, if you don't remember the answers to password recovery, you may have to delete the secure storage settings (from the contents tab), restart Eclipse and when it prompts for security questions, perform the Password Recovery setup seriously! This is as good as creating a new password which you want to use to recover as mentioned above.

Hi Surendranath,
Please follow below steps.
Open HANA Studio->Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Security -> Secure Storage -> Content, then select the content items, and delete it, it will ask you whether allow to delete all passwords, click 'Yes' to confirm that. then it will restart the studio. when it opens again, the system will be back to work, thanks.

Hi All,
It's just the Eclipse thing.
the permanent solution would be, just open your users, hana studio and you can find .eclipse folder. rename it as old.eclipse instead of deleting it.
I prefer renaming it than deleting. Ensure you close the hana studio before renaming it.
Then open the hana studio again, you can see a window stating a new master password has been created.
Kind Regards,
Mahesh

I just resolved the issue as below
A - 1. Go HANA Studio->Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Security -> Secure Storage ->Password
2. Click on the Recover Password button.You should get questions you set up when you created the secure storage. With the correct answers, the secure storage will be unlocked.
3. Open the orignal Workspace which was shown in the content tab - Storage Location - while reopening HANA Studio, else have to go with Option B
B - Open HANA Studio->Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Security -> Secure Storage -> Content
Then click the Delete button. It will restart your application and you can see your system.
C - As per note 2118551 (If above doesn't work)
Solution - Please delete .eclipse folder under your HANA STUDIO workspace and try again.
Go to C drive -- > Users -- > Your User name --> .eclipse
Hi Team,
This issue of "Secure storage is locked " is not resolved for me after doing all the steps suggested in the above posts.
Can you suggest what could be the issue here and how to resolve the same ?
I am using SPS08 and HANA studio version Rev 80 and HANA modeller perspective, tried the same with Rev 83 and / or using HANA admin perspective , but does not help.
Steps I have tried already:
1. go to Windows -> Open New Window. This created a second instance of HANA studio that didn't have the Locked issue. So, I could add the system, but the added system was not shown here
2. After this I tried this as well :
go to Window->Preferences->General->Security->Secure Storage
switch to <Contents> tab, and delete the default secure storage. and restart the HANA Studio.
This again shows "Secure Storage is Locked" issue
3. I have tried the last option to "Recover Password" , but this option is not enabled for me.
4. Use of "Unlock " button does not help.
If I ignore this message and add a HANA System(with proper host details as provided by Basis team ) under "Systems" tray in HANA studio, it connects to the system using my user id credentials (can see the same at the progress bar in bottom right corner) but does not show that the system is added in the Systems tray and the Content , Catalog folders below it.
Can you suggest what could be the issue here and how to resolve the same ?

Here's another solution that lets you keep your files.
1. Go HANA Studio->Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Security -> Secure Storage ->Password
2. Click on the Recover Password button. You should get questions you set up when you created the secure storage. With the correct answers, the secure storage will be unlocked.

This might work for a small number of people. For backup and restore purposes my company PC is configured so that my personal stuff is saved to a network drive as well as c:\users\myName.... Hana Studio was trying to write directly to the network drive, which was not available.
It was quickly seen when I checked the log from Hana Studio.

Richard

Ok, I just started using HANA studio with the openSAP course and I got the same thing. I think something happened to my default workspace and I couldn't seem to "Unlock" it or go to the properties page to change the database options (because nothing was configured yet).
What I did find that works (and this may be a poor work-around, but it seemed to do the trick for me) is to go Windows -> Open New Window. This created a second instance of HANA studio that didn't have the Locked issue.
Now when I look at the original window it looks like this:
Not sure if that is the correct way to do it or a long term solution. Maybe someone has a better solution. Seem to get this every time I open SAP HANA studio. Did I install it incorrectly?
Thanks,
w.

First, I do the steps as Wayne Pau. and delete the exist system.
Then,go to Window->Preferences->General->Security->Secure Storage
switch to <Contents> tab, and delete the default secure storage. and restart the HANA Studio.
This is worked for me.
I changed the windows user's password (on OS level) and after re-logon with the new password the HANA studio showed an empty space on the systems connections tab and this error message 'secure storage is locked' with a grey 'unlock' button - which does nothing.
In this case, there is no way to go to the file menu and change the properties of the 'connection' because there is NONE. And you are also NOT able to create a new one.
There was sort of a work-around mentioned somewhere, by just opening a new windows and then entering a new connection from there. This does work, but only for the actual HANA studio session, after closing the studio and re-open it everything has one again and studio is again locked.
So my question is:
what are the exact steps to be able to use HANA studio after having changed the Windows user's password??
br, Walter
Walter,
I got the following answer before when I asked in a different forum. I ran the steps and it worked well for me.
Wayne,
please follow the steps as described on http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/hana/blog/2012/09/27/the-not-quite-secure-storage-hana... should solve your problem.
-Bernd
Just to note, using the steps in the link worked for me. I had to create a new Master Password. The only thing is that in the link step #3 said click "yes" for me it was "no" to ahead and create the new password. However after that my HANA studio is working without the locked issue.
Good luck.
w.
Wayne,
thx for your response. Unfortunately you did not read my message very carefully: THERE IS NO DB-Connection available in my case, all HANA connections are gone. So this link does not help me at all - it tells me to change the database properties and re-cerate a new master password for the HANA connection...
I cannot change the connection/master password, because there is no interaction possible at this point.
Btw I already read all the messages here and could not find a proper solution.
Any more ideas?
Walter
You can do what Terry just said. That will get to you to same screen.
For me with no working connections I had to use my initial work-around to get a New Window and then create a new system. I put in localhost as the Hostname and "00" as the instance and clicked <next>. This put me on the screen that has the secure storage link.
However looking back at it, I think Terry's way is faster.
Really this seems to be an Eclipse thing. If you've read the link in the blog here:
it talks about all that. As it says:
