Dear Friends,

Can any one help me in the following isue?

Navigational Attributes are not fetching data in reports for the Infoobject having compounding property.

Master data:

  • Field1 and Source are compounding.

Field 1 Source Name

-

AB1 Sys1 Name1

AB2 Sys2 Name2

Cube (data)

-

data1 AB1 Sys1

Report:

Data1 AB1 Sys1 # is coming.. ( In place of #, I was expecting Name1.. )

Any idea please help me?

Can we use navigational attributes for compounding or not?

thanks,

Hari

Hai Hari Kiran,

I am not sure if this is the answer for your question. But if Name1 is the short description for the source system then your problem is that the description is not apprearing. Is it? If thats the case, go to your excel report, right click on the object and click on display>key and name. This should show up the description.

If Name1 is another object, what I said does not apply.

Good luck.

Hi Hari,

I'm not sure whether i understand your question.

You have an infoObject (A) with compounding (B).

Besides that you should have an attribute (C) that is set as navigational.

In your cube you put A and B (automatically).

When defining a query you select the nav attr. and nothing shows up? Is your nav attr time dependent?

Have a look in RSD1 and check your MD tables.

Brian

Does anyone have a answer to this question? I am having a similar problem. I have a compounded infoobject that I need to restrict on. I have set up an display attribute which is an indicator flag. I have set up a restriction that says to show only when the flag is equal to 'X'. My issue is that this is not working. Do I need to set up a navigational attribute to get this functionality?
