User roles in SPM 3.0 without "Administration" links

Dear all,

we're using SPM 3.0 and are struggling with the authorizations for the users. According to the security guide role SAP_SPM_USER is necessary for end users. We added role SAP_XA_USER so that the user kann access the reports.

We don't want the users to access the administration links on the SPM start page, e.g. user management or analysis administration. Unfortunately the roles mentioned above give access to these functions.

Which authorization objects do we have to delete or set to restricted access or to display to prevent user access to the administration functions?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Karsten

Hi Karsten,

You can check the role:SAP_SPM_ADMINISTRATOR (check the authorization objects in the profile pertaining to this role). And If you don't have Analysis administration accessing reports is also an issue. I'm not sure what are you going to achieve.

Thank you

Amarnath

Hello Amarnath,

I need roles for end users that should not be able to administrate the analyses or the SPM content. They shall just be able to open or change existing reports, dashborads or briefing books, or create some of their own.

Thanks, Karsten

Hi Amarnath,

thanks for the notes, but they did not help me. I found out by testing that role SAP_XA_USER is sufficient for accessing reports, but I was not able to snip administrative authorizations out of this role.

Best regards

Hi Karsten,

Analysis administration is heart of reports and if you want to have reporting authorization you must need analysis administration as i mentioned in my first reply.

Thank you
