SAML Assertions for Single Sign-On

Hi

1. SAP J2EE Engine accepts SAML assertions for Single Sign-On. However it cannot act as an SAML authority that issues such assertions. What do I need as component or application which will issue SAML assertion that will be accepted as the assertion in the destination i.e. SAP J2EE Engine.

2. What do I need to make the SAML based SSO that supports digital signature verification. Directly as of now, I was told, SAP J2EE Engine WebAS 6.4 does not support digital signature verification. Is there any way to get around this constraint ? Any idea will be highly appreciated.
