Add component error

We just upgraded from Solman 7 to 7.1 SP8.

Part of the upgrade pains were that we have had a few transports that had component difference errors.

To facilitate the change manager of such transports with component differences, we would like to have an error to be shown whenever there is such a transport that was created on old system to be tranported to PRD after the upgrade and that have component difference errors.

Anyone know how to do this so that we have the error to be shown where we have component differences, and also prefably to STOP the transportation process. Currently the system perform the charm process and change the status to "Production", even though the actual transport did NOT take place because of these component differences. The result is that we have a change document, saying everything is OK and in Production, even though the transport did not happen. We then had to manually "import" the transport via STMS, to get the chnage doc and the actual transport in sync.

Any ideas are welcome.

We found a place to add an error for consistency check per user status.

IMG > SAP Solution Manager > Capabilities > Change Control Management >
Standard Configuration > Change Request Management Framework >
Consistency Checks > Assign Implementation to Change Transaction Types.

Here we were able to add consistency checks on component difference and set it per status as well as the status it need to revert back to if the error has been encountered.
