VARIANT CONFIG.

Dear All,

            Help me in regarding variant configuration.

I have created matrial with material type KMAT.Same material created two configuration profile (00 & 01).In first profile assign class with 05 characteristics.

In second profile assign class with 03 characteristics.

When i have crerated sales order & select second profile but system shows five characteristics instead of 03 characteristics.

Any body can tell me if i have created two class & in first class i have assigned 05 characteristics & in sencond class i have assigned three characteristics.During sales order creation i have select second profile (03 characteristics) then how to pick up only 03 characteristics in sales order.

I don't think it is possible to use different classes for multiple profiles in the SAP standard.

Suppose you have a KMAT with one profile and one class attached. If you create another profile, then this class is automatically attached to the profile in the CU42. If you add another class to the profile, then the characteristics which correspond to the union of the two classes are displayed in the configuration. There is no way you can attach the just first class to the first profile and just the second class to the second profile - you always get both.

What you could do, as a workaround, is to introduce a dummy-characteristic in your model. Based on the value of this charateristic, selection conditions can display/hide the characteristics in your variant class, depending on the profile you want to work with.

Thanks for reply.

I have created class (Cl01) "A" with class type 300 (Variants) & 05 char. value assign in class "A".

Then again new class "B" created with class type 300 (variants) & 03 char. value assign in same class "B".

Then i have created configuration profile (CU41) with version '01' & '02".In first version assigned first class "A" with 05 char. values & in second version assigned second class "B" with 03 char. values.

When i have created sales order, select second version but problem is that system pick up second version with 05 char. values instead of 03 char values.

Also i am checking with priority basis but system pick 05 char. values.

Hi Vaibhav,

In CU42, the table that lists the configuration profiles for a material has the first column for 'Priority'. Here, you can specify a higher priority for the profile you want to be used.

Dear Kumar Akshat,

I have check with priority its taking as per my requirment but characteristics are not pick up as per my requirment.

In first profile i have assign class A with only three characteristics & in second profile i have assign 05 characteristics.During sales order i have choose first profile but 05 characteristics shown.

I want only three characteristics if i have select first profile.
