Problem in Sap ps & primavera integration

Hello Everyone !!

I am facing a problem in Sap & Primavera features. Actually in SAP PS we have WBS length 24 chr but in Primavera it is 20 chr . How can i export from Sap to Primavera because Prmavera allow me only for 20 chr .

Hi Yogesh Acharya,

Solution for above issue i.e.

In Primavera p6, In Enterprise menu you have an option in Activity codes.In which you select SAP WBS Element and click on modify and change the max length in it as 24 then your SAP WBS starts working from SAP PS to Primavera.

Hello Yogesh,

You can try the following options:

1) In P6, you can create a UDF at each WBS level which will match

exactly to SAP WBS_ELEMENT data and use this for mapping.

2) or if SAP WBS_ELEMENT includes SAP Project id then you can remove

this project id before transferring to P6 to reduce length of WBS.

3) or in P6 restrict WBS to 20 char only - to match length WBS_ELEMENT

field of SAP.

4) or maintain WBS mapping xml file that will give you P6 WBS based SAP

WBS_ELEMENT data. Read this file in workflow for WBS mapping.

i.e. P6 WBS = corresponding SAP WBS_ELEMENT.
