Hi,
I would calculate average stock in pcs, if I run MC44 with period of inventory turnover 01.05.2013-11.06.2013 and no restriction radio button selected, I obtain as average stock value 7,738.
By MB51 I can see for a material the following:
TEST 101 5000137977 11.06.2013 1 PC
TEST 201 4900616004 07.05.2013 1- PC
TEST 101 5000137971 07.05.2013 10 PC
Clicking on the "detailed display" button I can see:
Posting date GR GI Stock level
07.05.2013 10,000 1,000 9,000
11.06.2013 11,000 1,000 10,000
Over the net I found the formula of the average stock in pcs that is (initial stock+final stock)/2 but the result is different from the above 7,738

HI,
The value in MC44 is Inventory turnover and not the average inventory.
Can you get the cost of sales and then calculate the inventory turnover for this material manually.

Hi,
in MC44 I can see "Average stock" clicking on the "Triple line button" with a value in PCS I didn't understand how is this calculated
The library says:
"The value of the average stock is calculated by adding the beginning and ending stock in the period to analyze and dividing by two".
If I do as the library says, the result is different from the value of the "average stock" of MC44
Thanks
Best regards
Hi,
sorry I was talking about PC as unit of measure.
I verified for another material and I calculated the following for may and june 2013;
[initial stock 5/13 (17 PC) + end stock 5/13 (11 PC) + end stock 6/13 (26 PC)]/3= 18 PC
I read this topic: http://scn.sap.com/message/10506994
To be sure of my calculation I also executed report MCBA, MC.B, MC.3 and MC.7 to match my result and I verified that the average stock value is the above (18PC) the inventory turnover is 22/18=1,22
After this I executed report MC44 and I can read the following:
Material Usage (period) Inventory turnover
Average stock
X 22 PC 1,20
18,395 PC
MC44 has in the selection screen the day and not the month as in the other trxs, does it change something in this case in the formula?
That's my problem
Thanks
Regards

HI,
I tried to work out how average stock fig is calculated in MC 44.
Below is example which I used for calculation in my system
Number of days from 12/07/10 till 21/07/10 = 10
Stock movements from 12 till 21 is as below as shown in stock movement screen in detail display screen
Using above figures find out stock fig on each date i.e if there is no stock movement on particular date then stock value will be that of previous date. So in this case below is stock fig on each date
12 | 0 |
13 | 10,000.00 |
14 | 9,960.00 |
15 | 9,959.00 |
16 | 9,836.00 |
17 | 9,836.00 |
18 | 9,836.00 |
19 | 9,834.00 |
20 | 9,834.00 |
21 | 9,830.00 |
Calculate the sum of this stock value which comes out to 88925
Calculate average stock as sum of stock / number of days i.e. 88925/10 = 8892.5 . This is exactly as shown in the report above
now consider the date range is from 13th till 17th so stock figures are
13 | 10,000.00 |
14 | 9,960.00 |
15 | 9,959.00 |
16 | 9,836.00 |
17 | 9,836.00 |
Sum of this 5 days is 49591
Average stock per day is =49591/5 = 9918.2 .
When report is executed for this 5 days the above figure matches with the report.
So try to carry out similar analysis with your set of data and check whether it matches with above logic.
Amit.
