Project Planning Board: Indicator, Maintenance only allowed in Customizing

Dear All,

Can anybody put some light on custom only field in project planning board profile? when I pressed F1 help it gives following information

Indicator: Maintenance only allowed in Customizing

You use this indicator to specify that the planning board profile can only be changed in Customizing.

What kind of changes you can made in planning board other than customization? I checked this indicator and tried to change fields in planning board through CJ2B and it allowed. Even after unchecking the indicator also it allowed to change.

Hi Varun,

Have you used the same Project Planning Board Profile (OPT7- Tcode) in Project Profile (OPSA - Tcode). Please check Tcode OPSA. Go to Plg board/Dates tab and look the Project Planning Board Profile, whether it is same or not.? Anyways, it was just a cross check. But I want to confirm is there any requirement whether you want to restrict users to not to change any particular field or any layout.? Is that so...?

Hi Amit,

Planning board profile maintained in OPT7 is same as the profile in OPSA. There is no requirement to restrict user from modifying their user settings.

In order to create new field in Planning board profile, please follow the instruction given in SAP note 518169.

Hi Gordon,

Our requirement is to bring a uniform planning board layout across the company. F1 help is also mentioning that if this indicator is set then end user can't change layout from CJ2B or CJ20N.

I guess the note mentioned above is not applicable to our SAP release, it is 700, ECC 6.0
