Warning Message no. QE404 during results recording

Dear All,

during results recording I have noticed that if the results is too much out from specification limit then it give a warning msg

"The input value 0 is too small. Check your entry"

or

"The input value 3 is too large. Check your entry"

can any one tell how  to set the limit for this msg because it  is only appearing in cases where the results value is very very less or very very large not for all values  out of the specification?

Thanks

I believe what you are seeing is the effect of the "plausibility factor (%)" which is set for each individual plant in the QM plant level config settings.  (On the results recording tab of the plant settings).  I believe that standard SAP has this set to 200%.

I haven't used actually verified how his works with a variant config specification since none of my clients have ever used it, but I think this is what is influencing your plausibility ranges.  From the sounds of it you are not maintaining any plausibility ranges in your MIC's or inspection plans.  So this should be the next item to influence them.

Below is the help information from SAP for this field.

FF

******************************************************************************************************

Factor (%) with Which the Plausibility Limit Is Calculated

Use

If plausibility limits are not set for a quantitative characteristic in the plan, this factor (a percentage) is used along with the tolerance limits to calculate the plausibility limits for results recording.

Example

The plausibility limits are calculated on the basis of the tolerance limits as follows:

Plausibility factor: 200

Upper tolerance limit: 150

Upper plausibility limit: 300

Lower tolerance limit: 50

Lower plausibility limit: 25

There is a limit to enter the results which varies from lower limit & upper limit.

For the range 50 to 60, either 100 as result or 10 as result may show that warning message. This is just to alert the user to avoid typo error. If you want to continue with the same value, you can skip the warning. Else you can change the value.

Hi,

Check lower & upper limits you have defined.& Mainly check 'DECIMALS' allowed while creating CHAR.

It will help by adjusting decimal defined.

Revert if useful.

if the specification is from 100 to 200 it is not giving a warning msg if user is posting 99 but if user post 5 instead of 99 then it will give a warning msg that values is too small, check your entry.

Further I am using variant configuration to derive the specification.

please advise. how can we do it?

I need  a warning msg is the figure is out of the specification limit.

thx

You can use Lower Plausibility & Upper Plausibility limit (in MIC Master) to give the warning message.
