0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_I Datasource is not pulling some Item Categories data

Hi,

I notice that datasource 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_I is not pulling certails Iteem categories records ..

and I tried adding those respective object types in BWA1 selection conditions of that datsource but still no change ,

has any one come across and advise any possible reasona nd solution pls?

Hi..

Just an update on the issue mentioned earlier,

After investigating further I noticed that there is a hard coded validation in function module

CRM_BW_SERVPRO_I_MAP ( which is a BWA Adapter Mapping Module) as per thatthis data source can pull only below shown Item Object Types and not any more even though we maintain in BWA1 Tcode ..

So in short still I have not got the answer BUT I know where is the issue so interacting with CRM team to have a possibilty of using one of these Object types instead of current BUS2000252 if possible... will see how I proceed further on this...

Appreciate your courtesy to update this finding..

Make a copy of this standard extractor and hardcode the new item categories also. Start using this datasource after taking the confirmation from your CRM team.

Basically I have found that this BUS2000252 Object type is related to UBB(Usage Based) Service Contract Item but our CRM Srevice Order Quotations are using this Item Object type as part of Proposal Process as Service Usage Item ,

Only thing is that currently already this data source is being used for Service Order which is a productive and as part of new project requirement I am trying to pull Service Order Quotations as well so I would have to analyze the impact of having a new Datasource along with current productive one for the same(similar) set of source data,

Hi Ram,

If your new requirement is similar to the existing datasource, then i suggest you to enhance the existing one. I mean to say, bring all the data pertaining to existing and new logic to PSA and the split the data into different infoproviders by based on existing logic and the new logic by Start routines.

If you create a similar new datasource, then there will be a data redundancy in BW system.Just think of it and take your own call..

Considerable things for new datasource:

1) Data Loading time in the process chain

2) Maintenance of data accuracy at the Infoprovider levels

3) Load on the ECC system while extracting same type of data with new logic

4) Usage of memory space in BW for similar data

Hi Suman,

When you say enhance the existing one , I dont think so we can change the FM : CRM_BW_SERVPRO_I_MAP to accept the required Item Object Types BUS2000252 as well , Do you think?

Because the only problem is few line items(BUS2000252) are missing otherwise it is fine to use that std productive 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_I itself ,

And reg Data staging in BW Ideally I would do that way only like getting until PSA and then feed the relevant data into respective Infoproviders,

Hi,

Just an update on the this issue,

I had a discussion with CRM team and they agreed to change the Item Object type to be valid one provided it does not impact their expected functionality however unfortunately after their testing it is concluded just today that they can not change the Item Object type so now again back to sqr1 ,

so now for me the only the option would be copying the datasource 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_I to Z* DS and adopt the CRM_BW_SERVPRO_I_MAP( ofcource copying into Z*)  to accept the this Item Object type as well.

Can some one share experience of copying standard CRM Data source , I know that will have to do using BWA1 but just looking for some essential steps to have the same original datasource features like delta functionality etc ,

Hi Ram,

Rather than copying think about generic data source. if you have date field then you can enable delta pointer also.

how many fields of this data source your using in BW side. if your using very less fields then look at generic concept side. it suits or not as you need.
