Hello Community,

Very new SAP developer here. I am supporting PM and I have a question about the status on a workorder generated from a plan. Can I control this?? I want a maintenance plan to generate a released workorder. Normally my plans come out in a 'Planned' status however some plans (i.e. weekly and daily) I want to come out in Released status.

Hi,

For each order type you can define in customizing if the orders should be released immediately. Menu path:

Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
> Maintenance and Service Orders > Functions and Settings for Order Types > Configure Order Types

Select the order type and set the 'Relese immediately' flag.

Maintenance orders and service orders are released automatically only if they are created from maintenance calls,
from a background notification, or from a sales order. Orders created by other means (IW31, etc) are not released immediately.

Kelly,

If you need to update a user-status at order creation, and its not the default user-status, then you will need to develop a solution to do this.

It can be done in user-exit IWO10009 (SMOD/CMOD) or BADI WORKORDER_UPDATE (SE18).
