How to Change Crystal Reports Preferences for all Users

Hi All,

I am looking to change the crystal report preferences for all users so that they do not use the activeX. I have looked and it only seems you can do this on a report by report basis. This would be an extremely time and labour intensive task. Can someone please direct me where I can make this change in the CMC?

BI 4.0 security is being utilized here and is not applicable to versions earlier than BI 4.0

Yes, this may help for changing General preferences in bulk however to change Advance preferences we would need to use the script.

Hi Michael,

We dont need to change preferences report by report basis, once you change the preferences it should reflect globally for all the reports. To change preferences globally for all users use following KBAs, version specific.

1659566 - How to Apply Preferences to All User Accounts in BI 4.0

1202421 - How to globally change users' preferences

Thanks very much for the links to the tickets.

It looks like that is a one time change and won't affect future users as they are added as it is not a system setting. Any pointers on that?

Hi Michael,

Thats true, for the users being added after applying the preferences you will have to rerun the script.
