Combined Navigation Mode vs Area Hiearchical

Hi,

Question regarding Navigational Modes in WCEM 3.0

At my customer all products are stored on the lowest Catalog Area Level, Eg:

Catalog Area A

Sub Cat Area AA

Sub Sub Cat Area AAA (products here)

Sub Sub Cat Area AAB

Sub Sub Sub Cat Area AABA (products here)

Sub Sub Sub Cat Area AABB (products here)

Sub Sub Cat Area AAC (products here)

Sub Cat Area AB

Sub Sub Cat Area ABA (products here)

Sub Sub Cat Area ABB (products here)

If I use Navigation Mode = "Area - Hiearchical"

  • A benefit using this Navigation mode is that all products on a lower level are summarized up to the higher Catalog Area. Eg, if browsing to Catalog Area A, I will see all products below it - no matter which Sub or Sub Sub Area they are in... and if I drill down to Sub Cat Area AB I will see all products placed in ABA and ABB. The positive thing with this is that if I drill down to AB and there are no products in Sub area ABA and ABB - I see 0 products already here and don't have to drill down to the lowest level just to see that there are 0 products there.
  • A downside however is that I am not able to use any filter values on the lowest level where I have the products and all belong to the same taxonomies.

If I use Navigation Mode = "Combined"

  • A benefit is that I am able to use the filtering of attribute values on the products on the lowest level
  • However, I am not able to see the products summarized to the higher level as in Area - Hiearchical

Is there anyway to be able to combine these two features... eg, I want filtering possibility on the lowest level, but also see a summary of the included products on higher catalog area level?
