Hi Anil,

Please see sap note 1646736. you should be able to Merge on characteristics and not on hierarchies.

I assume you get #Syntax error when you try using the merged dimension?

Hi Anil,

You can define seperate queries in the webi document using BICS connectivity to connect separately each of those three Bex queries and combine the data using merge dimension.

let me know if you have any specific issue while doing this of if your question is more specific to any issue with bex queries using hierarchies ?

Thanks

Hi Mallikarjun ,

I am pulling webi report on top of three bex quires with hierarchical data . I Have added three bex quires in to webi and selected the hierarchy level in result objects for the dimensions, ran the queries all to together . Dimensions are same from all the quires and measure values are different . Later Merged the Dimensions and came to know we can not add the merged dimension with hierarchy's , in SP4 there is some issues with hierarchical data . so added the dimensions from the quires Vs  all the measures from the quires. But i am not getting the data in webireport for the measures . There is data in the Bex .

Can you please let me know , if i am missing any steps .

Thanks in advance

Hi Anil,

Group the objects in the report query wise and try and pull each query objects separately to see if they are returning data individually.

Alternatively you can use the function NumberOfRows([Data provider/Query]) to check if the data is returned from all the queries.

If you find data is available in the three queries, try build a new block in a fresh new report tab to esnure no report level filters are there when you are creating your block.

Check in your existing report if any report filters or input controls have selections that are not allowing data to be returned in the report blocks.

After the above analysis, you can check if issue is something very specific to merge dimenison or hierarchies.

Thanks

Hi,

Merging Hierarchies doesn't support in SP4 .. Sp5 has that feature added.

Thanks,
