Error in file "filename.rpt". Database Connector Error

Former Member

I'm having an issue running a report I created in Crystal Reports from the business objects server.  The report runs fine in Crystal, and other reports using the same database work fine from the server.  The only thing different about this report is that I have manually linked some tables in Crystal to get the report to pull the proper data.  However when I run from the server I get an error (very quick) saying Error in file "filename.rpt". Database connector error.

The report runs fine when I don't use fields from the two tables I linked.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did you add the new tables from same schema and DB?

First, Open the report in your crystal client and verify database.

click database on top menu, and find verify database.

Run the report in crystal client, and save it on the BO server.

Second, check in cmc db credentials. Find your report and right click.

You will find database config there,

make sure in data sources, you have only 1 entry. And that same is entered just beside on the right side "use original database logon info"

at the bottom of the page "when viewing report" check the radio button "use same database logon as

when report is run"

hope this helps.

Hello Lauren,

Check your DB connection info in CMS? Error is likely it's failing to log on in the first place.

Try a one table report, does that work?
