Encryption in SAP HANA

I would like to know if HANA provides in-built procedures for encrypting and decrypting data at field level of a table

Hi Sushant,

currently (SPS 5) encryption is available only on persistency level but not on table/column level or for backups.

Although no planned release dates have been announced, I'm quite optimistic that these features will be added later on.

If they really take IQ code into the column store, I suppose that will come by default?

IQ has great per-column encrypting capabilities.

Hi Sushant,

I am not sure if the encryption feature is at data field level, but the following ALTER SYTEM command may help you encrypt the data at system level.
