Hello,
Can anybody tell me where to assign the retained earning account in the financial statement structure. Do I have to assign the retained earning account under the capital position or at the end after the profit and loss result as a double check that the result in the P/L is same as in the Balance sheet?
thanks for your help
GK
Kline,
You assign retained earning in FSP0 in detailed control for P&L Statement Account and define P&L Statement Acct Type in OB53.

Kline,
In my company (country : Indonesia) we assign RE Account in Financial Statement version (OB58) like this :
BALANCE SHEET
ASSETS >> Special Item
LIABILITIES & STOCKHOLDER'S EQUITY >> Special Item
CURRENT LIABILITIES
NON CURRENT LIABILITIES
STOCKHOLDER'S EQUITY
..........
..........
RETAINED EARNINGS
Retained Earnings-Appropriated
Retained Earnings-Unappropriated
Retained Earnings-Unappropriated
G/L Account RE
Net Result: Profit >> Special Item
Net Result: Loss >> Special Item
Hope this can help you.
Regards,
Harris

Hi Kline,
You assign retained earning account in financial statement structure using OB58. Then you put/assign retained earning account on special item 'Liabilities+Equity'. For Special Item in FS structure is marked by red foreground.

Many thanks Venkat,
but unfortunately the documentation does not show where in the balance sheet structur do you assign the retained earnings account. could you pls double check in your balanc e sheet structure. I assigned it now under the capital in the liability position, but i think it might has to go under the P/L result. thanks GK
