Hi Gurus,
I have the following requirement:
- Create random sample and inspection lot which triggers 2 different WM movements:
1- Status change of lot from unrestricted to blocked by quality
2- Sample movement from lot storage bin to Quality storage bin
Problem:
- When creating manually physical samples, the inspection lot created with origin 15 has no goods movement management so it is impossible to manage stock in WM
Which will be the best scenario of QM-WM for reaching this requirement?
Thank you.
Hi,
Finally, the scenario is getting shape...we did the following:
- Use movement type 322 to change lot status with 08 inspc. lot origin which creates inspection lot. to change MM lot status without moving quantity.
- This material has insp plan assigned with sample plan which generates physical samples for the lot.
we need an additional WM movement to move samples from storage bin to 917 (quality) consuming stock from the lot and destroying it.
Any clues?

HI,
you can create a custom movement (i.e. copy of 301 or 309) that puts the stock in restricted and in a specific storage bin.
In customizing you set this movement relevant for QM.
The sample is created automatically whit the inspection lot (based on relu that you are defined).

As I understand,
Smaple managment in QM is not related to mvt types of WM ,as planned or unplanned physical samples are triggered with either PO creation or Goods recipt or manually. All these cases do not fit into your requirement.
You may have to explore any other option which could create physical sample ,like creating physical sample from QPR6 for existing IL etc etc

Hi,
Thank you for your answers. Could it be possible to do it the other way around?
- First create a WM movement which creates an inspection lot and changes lot status to 'Blocked'
- Create another WM movement which moves samples from that inspection lot to Quality storage bin and the to destruction
Is this possible?
thank you..

You'd have to talk to a WM guy. I'm pretty sure you can't trigger an inspection lot from the WM moves, only the IM movements.
Second, once attached to an inspection lot, nothing.. I repeat nothing.. can move the quantity from QI except by making the stock posting via the UD screens. I.e. it has to be a QM process to release the material from QI.
Once released by QM you can have a follow-up action process the WM movements if needed or you can have the WM person set up WM to automatically close the create WM transfer order.

As I know, QM is integrated with IM. It means QM cannot catch movement within storage bin level.
Therefore you need any movement in inventory level such as 301, 311, 309...)

I'm going to make a few assumptions here because I'm not 100% from your posting.
You say create random sample but then farther down you refer to creating a manual physical sample and using origin 15.
So I'm assuming you are manually creating a physical sample, than creating an inspection lot for this sample. When this inspection lot is created you want to trigger the WM moves.
There is no inherent integration between QM and WM for this. If you create the inspection lot, look at using a user exit to process the WM moves.
Possibly one of the following:
QPL10001 | QM: Inspection lot creation - editing work area on creation |
QPL10003 | Sample calculation for inspection lot without plan |
QPL10004 | User subscreen for displaying additional data in insp. lot |
QPL10007 | QM: Inspection lot creation - change QM order type |
