Hi,
Can someone tell me teh difference between SI_GUID and SI_CUID ..I know the CUID is the unique object identifier in a cluster and that it remains same across enviroments. I noticed in my BI4.0 the guid and cuid re same. So, can someone explain the significance of having guid?
Thanks
GU_ID refers to Global Unique Identifier which is used in earlier versions of BusinessObjects. This is unique in higher level as compared to CU_ID which is unique in a single environment . But where as in the case of GU_ID it is unique across multiple environments. No two environment will have same GU_ID at any point of time.

Mani

GUID is used to identify objects in an object package, its is used for internal processing.

There is no significance, it is used internaly.
The only ID's you should care about are SI_CUID and SI_ID. CUID is most important one.
