CR4E - missing hierarchy member selector

Hello there,

my CR4E report is based on a BEx query. There is a hierarchy called "Kostenart", in BEx it's defined as hierarchy variable.

Now in Crystal Reports I would like to exclude certain nodes, but to do so I need a hierarchy member selector. Unfortunately there is none (see screenshot), why is that?

Thank you very much!

Bernhard

Hello Bernhard,

based on the screenshot you do not have the member selector in the query panel.

Now that happens only in case you do have a hierarchy node variable in the underlying BEx Query.

Can you check the BEx query for that ?

thanks

Hello Ingo,

I did not know that the member selector does not work with hierarchy node variables. Now that I switched to fixed hierarchy in BEx, it's fine.

Thanks!

Hi Bernhard,

What version of Crystal Reports for Enterprise are you using?

This feature was only introduced in SP04 for CR for Enterprise.

Hello Abhilash and thanks,

I'm using Crystal Reports Enterprise 4.0 SP06 and I tested with another BEx query, where the member selector worked...

The test query uses a standard hierarchy while my current query (where the member selector is not displayed) uses a hierarchy variable.

Could this be the reason? Is there a workaround?

Regards,

Bernhard

Thanks for testing Bernhard. I can't confirm if that is the case as I don't have access to a BW Server unfortunately.

I would wait for someone who does have access and can test whether this is the default behaviour.
