mps and mrp

dear expert;

i understand that when i run MPS (md40 or md42 ) just mps item will be planned , but when i see the stock req list (md04) , in the order report for my mps item i saw planned orders for all mrp material ( my bom are 2 levels) so i dont understand . can u explain?

this mps run was after many mrp run before when my mps item was mrp item ( before i change its mrp type ).

can u explain why ?

Hi Amal,

Please check if you are using the setting 'Process MRP materials' in MD40; and if yes, please remove the tick, and test.

Assuming that you do not use 'Process MRP materials' in MD40 or you use MD42 (Single Item-Single level), the system would explode the BOM for the referred MPS item(s) and pass the demand to the BOM components.

• If the BOM components are also set with MRP type relevant for MPS - the system would continue planning for them as well.
• If the BOM components are set for MRP, the subsequent MRP runs would pick the demand/change and plan.

Hi,

Please check and try with the below t. codes:

For MPS run, use the MD41 - Single-Item, Multi-Level, MD42 - Single-Item, Single-Level ,  MD43 - Single-Item, Interactive.

The MRP type used is M0.

Re-run your MRP/MPS and check again.
