HR ABAP : IT2003 splits through HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION

Hi All,

I m trying to create a record in IT 2003 (Subsitution ) by using the FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION. It working fine while creating a new record.

The probelm is........

If a record is already present in IT 2003 for the period covering the supplied dates which I am trying to created a record then is just delete the existing record and only creates a record with the supplied dates.

If the existing records is for period greater than the newly creating records, then while creating a new record it should splits the existing record as per the date supplied.

I tried this through PA30 , IT 2003 creates split records in the existing record throwing a pop-up of collosion, while through the above FM the record is not splitted but deleted & replaced with new dates records.

Pls. suggest any alterantive way to go about it.....or any other solution/hint will be welcome.
