when i run function module 1-2 combine in crystal report it will run perfect and it will take 9 sec to exe.

but when i used 3 function module combine and join with 1-2-3 (Plan key). and run it it will take more then 15 min after that data will be non.

but individual run three fm then it will show data. it will take max 20 sec each.

Can any one tell me what exact issue and how to solve it ?

    Hi Haresh

I run into similar performance problems and look forward to responses you receive in this discussion.

How are you creating you “join” in Crystal Reports? Are you joining the FMs in the Database Expert? Or do you have sub-reports calling the FMs?

It is my understanding that, when you use Database Expert for the join, the join occurs after the data is fetched from the FM. This means the “child” FMs will pull in all records regardless of plant . . . or will be executed repeatedly for each record retrieved in your “parent” FM.

On the other hand, if you use sub-reports, then CR will make multiple calls to the “child” FM. . . . again for each record retrieved in your “parent” FM.

I’m hoping Ingo will chime in with his comments.

Meanwhile, my solution has been to modify my FM so that all my data comes from one FM and, thereby, remove the “join” in CR.
