Creating Characteristic for Product Type

Dear Experts,

When i tried to create a new characteristic in TMA5 for a new product type which i like to use in Limit Management, i would like link the new characteristic to the origin table .. But i am not able to give this details anywhere while creating the characteristic and hence the orgin table field shows blank and ths system requires me to manually maintain values in "define characteristic values" node of the configuration

Also i have enclosed the screen shot the creation screen. Please advice what needs to be selected in the screen to input the origin table

Hi Zehran,

Origin field keeps empty in case you create a characteristic with reference to an existing data element.

Origin fields will however be filled when you do pick up a new characteristic from a SAP table (option 'transfer from SAP table').
