Several Thoughts about "besides Daily Work"

Hello everybody,

Recently I was thinking about something: it is true that sometimes we are too busy and too tired from the daily work that we gradually loose the ability to think. So I took some time to really think about what are the important things to do beside my daily work on SAP. I tried to do it in a way that would also help me to improve my skills, performance, etc. I came up with this shortlist that I would like to share with you:

1.       First, keep learning. I know that it is difficult to keep enough energy to learn after a long day of hard work! I don’t need to explain the importance of learning and especially in the fast-changing SAP world in which you need to update your knowledge on a regular basis. It may be helpful that you don’t consider it as a TODO task, but more as an hobby like piano, learning a foreign language, or boxing, try to treat your SAP skills update like them!

2.       Read the news. I mean it, don’t ever underestimate the power of reading news. This is a real good habit that won’t take too much of your time but comes with great value while interacting with clients, managers or fellow colleagues. Of course SAP news are very important, but do not miss out any latest industry trends as well, what is worst than couldn't participate to a debate just because you missed the hottest news? You will gain truly useful insights from this daily exercise which will eventually benefit your career.

3.       Take a break! Well, this sounds very obvious but with the daily rush we tend to forget that we are more efficient after taking a 15min break. You need to take a pause to review, to think, to summarize, to plan and then to start again. Trust me, this short time of peace will bring you higher return than you were expecting.

Well, I guess everyone as this kind of list, feel free to share yours!

Betty

Apart from what betty have mentioned above,

do some physical exercise.. take out some time from your busy schedule..go to gym.. do some work out.. do neck exercise (very important).. play indoor/outdoor games..

it is very needful for each and every one to be fit..specially to IT folks who spend a whole day by sitting on a chair looking to the monitor regularly.....
