Sybase database license - EhP6 for ERP6.0

Hi,

I had recently installed the IDES version of ECC6.0 with EhP6 on Windows 2008 & with Sybase database 15.7

I had gone through the information from Sybase website and other relevant information from SMP for license topic but still in confusion on the below 3 questions.

1) Should I need to install the separate Sybase DB license?

2) Do I need to request the Sybase database license separately from SMP.

3) What could be procedure/steps for installation of license?

Hi,

If you have downloaded ECC 6.0 EhP6 and the RDBMS media which comes with it, you need NO additional license for the ASE.

The ASE will come licensed with the requirements for the SAP application, it is in essence similar to an embedded OEM license.

No problem, that note is relevant to standalone ASE, i.e. not purchased as a part of Business Suite.
